I now reflect on my health and listen to my body in ways I did not do in my twenties. I was young and active, which made me worry-free about my health. I didn't have children at the time either, which explains why I was less concerned about life. I went with the flow like many young people.
In my forties, discussions about healthy habits are the centerpiece of our family's conversations. My family and I have integrated ways to stay active, enjoy life, and eat healthy without breaking the bank. Yes, there are ways to eat healthily and live a decent life on a small budget in today's fast-moving life. The profusion of packaged food gives you the convenience of cooking-free meals and little time in the kitchen but with the downside of putting more preservatives into your body.
Think of how many ingredients we read on some food labels, and that is if you even know what they are and how to read them. The list can be used as a ladder to the sky. How many of us even pay attention to a food label? For many years, I did not pay much attention, and when I did, I didn't always understand how these ingredients, good or bad, impacted my health. Combining what you eat for convenience with what you know is good for you is always a challenge for some of us. Even when we can afford healthy food, we don't always make an informed decision about what goes into our cart at the grocery store and what should not.
You see, I did not grow up eating industrialized food. Now, as a mother in today's world where convenience and taste have pushed healthy natural food to the backseat of the "Health mobile," leaving processed food to enjoy the front row, I worry about my family's health.
I have found ways to stay active and enjoy the little gift of life we all share on this planet. I have found ways to get my children to achieve their full potential without too much stress. Optimizing our mental and physical health is a goal we must nurture as a mother cares for her baby. Unfortunately, life doesn’t come as a pre-cooked meal or an oven-ready meal for many of us. Hence the idea of creating this website envisionhope.com.
I have a forward goal, a vision to share my family’s journey to a healthy lifestyle in hopes of helping you and your family on your journey to optimum health. As I challenge myself every day, I want to share my motivations, inspirations, and, more importantly, the lessons I learned and continue to learn. I have achieved many of our family’s goals with a limited budget. The incredible results have encouraged me to help you or someone who has the same plans and worries but doesn’t know how to tackle them. I figure I could share with you how I strive to achieve that optimum health one day at a time.
I will share healthy recipes to feed your body and mind through various leisure activities, including cooking, sports, writing, drawing, etc. For example, I am keen to provide healthy and elegant meals for my family to enjoy when it comes to cooking. I use many substitutions in my kitchen while keeping in mind that a balanced diet doesn’t have to be expensive or tasteless. What motivates me on this journey is the desire to go back to the basics: Using fresh ingredients to create elegant and affordable meals.
I also hope to learn from you as we march on this journey. As a mother with happy young children, I combine that “Mama” experience with my educational background in Nursing and Literature to help you rediscover the joy of simple, healthy food and the optimum lifestyle for your family to enjoy.
I have a passion for languages, all languages. I will use English, French, and basic Spanish to communicate with you on this website. Everyone is welcome to read or contribute in the language they feel comfortable using.
Welcome aboard, and have fun sharing with me because, invisionhope.com is a place to love, share, learn and inspire. It is a place where hope is alive for me, my family, and yours.
Sincerely,
Hope
